Vegetable Seeds - A - E

Cabbage Savoy King F1 Seeds are reliable performers producing early season cabbages with dense tasty heads. The leaves of this Savoy cabbage become more crinkled as the weather beomes cooler. Cabbages are an excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidents.

Sow Outdoors

Sow outdoors thinly in a seed bed, 1.5cm (½" ) deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Water well until the cabbage plants are established. Transplant 60cm (2') apart when plants are about 10cm (4") tall. Allow 60cm (2') between rows. Plant firmly and water well.

Sow Indoors

Sow 0.5cm (¼" ) deep in a seed tray of compost. Water well and place in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Keep moist. Transplant 5cm (2") apart to other trays when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.

Timings

Sow Indoors: February to May.

Sow Outdoors: March to May.

Plant Out: May to July.

Harvest: August to November.

Average Contents: 50 seeds.
