Bypass Loppers

Bypass Loppers work very much like a large pair of powerful scissors, in that they have two sharpened blades, that bypass when closed. Bypass Loppers are best when used on green or living stems and braches, where they make a clean cut that heals quickly.

Bypass Loppers are particularly good at cutting larger branches and wood, that require more power than a pair of secateurs can provide. To cut larger branches, with less effort, some of the Loppers are Geared Bypass Loppers, and can make larger cutting jobs less tiresome.

We stock a great range of Bypass Loppers, from some of the very best names in garden tools, such as Spear & Jackson, Wilkinson Sword and Fiskars.

Anvil Loppers

Anvil Loppers differ from Bypass Loppers in that they only have one sharpened cutting blade. The cutting blade closes against a flattened edge, usually made of a softer metal than the blade. Anvil Loppers are best used on dead stems and branches where they lesson the twist and damage.

Bypass Loppers are particularly good at cutting larger branches and wood, that require more power than a pair of secateurs can provide. To cut larger branches, with less effort, some of the Loppers are Geared Bypass Loppers, and can make larger cutting jobs less tiresome.

Telescopic Loppers

Telescopic Loppers are available as both Bypass and Anvil Loppers. There main advantage is the reach that can be obtained through the extension of the telescopic handles. This can also provide extra cutting power too.

We stock a range of different Telescopic Loppers from some of the best names in the garden tool industry, such as Spear & Jackson, Wilkinson Sword and Fiskars.

For Loppers with added reach check out our range of Telescopic Loppers.
