Garden or Horticultural Fleece can be invaluable at both ends of the growing season, spring and autumn, to provide tender plants with a measure of protection. Garden Fleece can provide several degrees of frost protection to plants and keep the worst of it off, whereas unprotected plants may not survive.

Garden Fleece can not only protect against frost but also provides, sometimes just as importantly, protection from damaging cold winds, prevent leaves from being scorched. It can also be used throughout the summer months to provide pest protection, for instance, carrots can be successfully seeded and cropped without the devastation caused by carrot root fly and salad crops, such as radish, protected from flea beetles.

We stock both garden fleece, pulled off the roll, at varying widths and the superb range of Fleece Jackets, for individual plant protection, together with ground cover pegs and staples to keep fleece secure.

Our Ground Cover Sheeting is exceptionally strong, and should last over 10 years with normal use. It is made from woven strips of plastic sheet to create a fabric that doesn't let in sunlight but, at the same time, is water permeable. It is ideal for suppressing weeds and can be overlaid with shingle, stones or bark.

The Ground Cover Sheeting is pulled off a roll. It is therfore 2 metres wide, by whatever length you require. As a rule it will arrive as a single length, unless you request us to cut it to particular lengths, or if over 30 metres are ordered, as it becomes unweildy and heavy. In this case an extra metre will be supplied per section.
