Carrot Seeds - James Scarlet Intermediate - Mr Fothergill's

Ref: 06215

Price: £1.49

Quantity:

A very reliable all-rounder with broad, medium length tapered root. It has a strong orange colour and a good flavour. Carrots prefer an open position on light rich soil that has not been recently manured.

Sow:

Thinly from March to June, half-inch (1.5cm) deep, allowing about 1 ft (30cm) between rows. Keep soil moist. Repeat fortnightly for succession. Thin out to 4in (10cm) apart and water well to replace any soil dislodged from roots.

Harvest:

June-November. Provided that they are not damaged, main-crop carrots can be stored over winter. Simply remove foliage at the crown, brush all soil from the roots and place in boxes of dry sand.

Average contents: 2000 seeds.
