Watercress is a very quick and easy crop to grow and produces highly nutritious leaves packed with lots of flavour. It is a fast crop to grow and can be very cost effective to grow your own.

Our favoured method of growing watercress, not having access to a stream providing free-flowing water, is to grow it in a plant pot with a saucer. Simply fill the plant pot, ranging in size from perhaps a 10 Litre pot to a 25 Litre Pot, depending how many you have to feed and how often you are likely to use it, with a general purpose compost. Water the compost until soaked and liberally scatter then seed over the surface. Then cover with a light layer of compost or, as the seed is very small, we prefer vermiculite.

The seeded plant pot is then placed in the plant saucer and the saucer topped up with water. Simply then ensure that the saucer never runs dry, keep the plant pot sitting constantly in a full saucer.

Having sown a generous amount of seed, we harvest as a cut and come again salad crop, nipping of a few leaves per plant when big enough.

Sow: March - August.

Harvest: April - November.

Average 1000 Seeds per Packet.
