Uses for potting grit
Potting grit can be mixed into potting compost or soil to provide extra drainage and prevent waterlogging. The extra drainage is what makes potting grit ideal for plants that like dry conditions e.g., cacti and succulents.
Potting grit can be used as a pot topper to provide a decorative finish to plant pots. Alternative uses for potting grit include use underneath pots in the greenhouse and in garden ponds.
