Horticultural grit sand for plants in pots and containers. Mix Melcourt Horticultural Potting Grit into compost or use as a top dressing for alpines, succulents and cacti. Melcourt’s horticultural grit sand is washed and ready for use. It is lime free.
Uses for potting grit
Potting grit can be mixed into potting compost or soil to provide extra drainage and prevent waterlogging. The extra drainage is what makes potting grit ideal for plants that like dry conditions e.g., cacti and succulents.
Potting grit can be used as a pot topper to provide a decorative finish to plant pots. Alternative uses for potting grit include use underneath pots in the greenhouse and in garden ponds.
